iphone does: november beach escape

I guess I haven't done that many "iphone does" posts since I started using ridiculous apps that help me cheat my way out of a limited square frame, because I was about to throw my laptop off the bed  screaming, "BLOGGER'S SPACING IS ALL OFF AGAIN." ... Mmmm, nope. It's just me & my square-frame-claustrophobia.

To be honest, I've not even pulled photos off our camera yet from our fantastic week in Pine Knoll Shores. We've been being social, which is ah! SO MUCH FUN! I'm inching my way ever nearer to the last event of the season at work, after which, I become a normal Monday-Friday-er for the next four glorious months. HUH-RAYYYY! It's the perfect cycle, because that's about when I start getting twitchy inside the office, craving a good event to get the adrenaline pumping.

Long story long, you get Instagram pictures because I've been being a normal 20-something. I am so bad at this blogging thing ;)

But isn't my niece just thah CUTEST?
Thanksgiving, come quick!
I need a baby fix!

iphone does: virginia fashion week

Since a 5k got Jared & I up to Richmond to spend a weekend in the Coulomb's brand new house, it seemed fair to entice the Coulomb's to make a trip down to Norfolk to visit our new apartment by dangling a fashion show in front of Amelia's nose. Allison, Amelia & I got a little gussied up & headed over to the Virginia Fashion Week's Couture show. Drank a little wine, played with some  SPCA kittens (our city loves some SPCA), pretended like we were totally part of the fashion scene... You know. Fashion Week stuff.

I'm not going to lie, it was a little... local? I can't say disappointed, because I experience the Big 4 fashion weeks via bloggers, gossip columnists & my big imagination, so I don't have any real life experience to compare it to. But, we can at least say we went out, supported local models/designers/whoever was sponsoring the cash bar, & hey! PLAYED WITH KITTENS.

Thanks for the evening out, Norfolk!

iphone does: an evening with ingrid

I fell in love with ingrid while writing an English paper as my freshman year roommate watched one tree hill. ingrid was the featured artist, & I immediately took to myspace to find out who she was & how could I hear more of her music. it's been deep, heart-throbby love ever since. jared surprised me with tickets to the show last month & I finally - FINALLY! - found myself back in the same room as the great & almighty ingrid for the first time since I saw her in concert in 2007. we took my littlest sister & her bff with us to share in the love, & middle-aged ladies who seemed to be at the concert just to ruin everyone else's evening aside... had a really pleasant time. pictured with ingrid is her new hubby, greg laswell. they're pretty presh.

& it's only fitting that I share ingrid's impromptu Olympic song that she played for us... obviously, I was not the only one wondering how the women's gymnastics all-around was going during the concert that night. it's funny :)

iphone does: town point park

now that I've joined the iphone cult, uhhhhh... club... I'm trying to figure out how to balance the how-much-iphone-is-too-much-iphone in the land of blog. but it's midnight, & I have wedding festivities for darling sara + daniel starting early tomorrow am, so phone photos it is.

we don't really love the area we live in, but the "city" (being norfolk) has some plus sides. it sits on the water's edge of the elizabeth river, which I like to close my eyes & pretend is like hitting the edge of the hudson in nyc. only it smells a tad better here & you're much more likely to see a disney cruiseliner than a scenic ny skyline. we had some norfolk errands on monday & had lunch in the park on the water's edge. these first two weeks of may never disappoint with their choice of weather.

norfolk, we may not love you, but if you were a person, we'd probably invite you over for dinner at least once.
